Dan Sillett - President of EIR
In an increasingly polarised and complex world, discovering new information and solutions to problems is more important than ever. That’s where the EIR comes in.
The EIR is committed to producing world-leading, independent research. Delving deep into political, economic, and social issues and policies, our talented researchers are creating a better future for everyone. We’re plugging the black holes by researching the unresearched - broadening horizons beyond big ticket topics. With a global scope, the EIR is, quite literally, world-changing.
But being a part of the EIR’s mission is not just about churning out data, policy reports and analysis. It’s about nurturing a positive culture, and creating a community with a better understanding of the world around us.
That’s why the EIR goes beyond the page to educate, inform, and inspire. Running seminars, conferences, and workshops brings data and insights to life in new and creative ways. It gives you the opportunity to build a network of connections, forging a community that possesses the skills and knowledge needed to innovate and improve.
And the best part? The EIR is no closed shop. Whether you’re part of our team, or working with us to find the answers to your needs, or simply reading our research findings, you’re part of our community. The EIR is more than just a think tank. It’s a powerful, buzzing ball of ideas and like-minded people - and it’s growing all the time.
It is an honour and a privilege to be leading a research initiative with the biggest potential and most powerful motivations. So why not join us on this journey of learning, discovery, and friendship? If you want a better world for you, your children, and your grandchildren, the EIR is the place for you.Â
Dr. Sam Mace - Head of Research
The EIR is dedicated to promoting and releasing contemporary research on the most pressing questions of the day. Digging beneath the surface our team of young researchers will produce accessible and timely research for experts and laymen alike. Seeking to understand the drivers of big questions such as democracy, justice, fairness, and society, the EIR produces research challenging assumptions about domestic and international politics.Â
The EIR produces work investigating significant policy challenges associated with such questions. Given that today we live in an increasingly interconnected but paradoxically isolated world, the EIR is dedicated to using practical tools on the basis of a firm philosophical foundation. Using a combination of think pieces, policy briefs, and larger working papers, the EIR offers a range of research products posing and answering these questions to different degrees.Â
We use clusters framing our research across thematic challenges that we find. Our current research clusters are ‘State and Society’ and ‘International Affairs and Relations’. Probing challenges such as the ever-changing role of authority in the technological age and the role of R2P in a seemingly increasingly lawless international environment these projects fuse theory and practice arriving at truly innovative ideas useful for policy practitioners and think leaders alike.Â
Using a young team of researchers the EIR believes the future is now. Utilising the skills from those just graduated our researchers to not only use their existing skillset but we encourage intellectual and practical growth through their research. AT EIR, we believe not only in producing cutting edge research but developing world class researchers. We invite you to come on our journey with us as we pose difficult questions to emerging challenges.Â
